Age Requirement

Dystopia Rising: Arkansas is an 18+ branch of the Dystopia Rising Network.

PERSONAL PROPERTY

Dystopia Rising: Arkansas is not responsible for the safety of your property if it is broken or stolen. Please keep your wallet, keys, important personal items, etc. secured and hidden.

Sexual Misconduct Policy

Sexual misconduct, including, but not limited to sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking, by any player who is a member of the Dystopia Rising: Arkansas community is a violation of both state and federal law as well as community policy and will not be tolerated by Dystopia Rising: Arkansas. Dystopia Rising: Arkansas considers sexual misconduct a very serious issue and shall uphold the policies and process described in the link below.

BANNED CONCEPTS

Some concepts are simply not appropriate to our game and our community.

  • Confederate Flag. Our fictional world is full of chaos and bloodshed but symbols of racism from the real world are not welcome.

  • War Bonnets. These items are tied to real-world spiritual and religious beliefs and are inappropriate for costuming.

  • Self-harm and Suicide. Many of our friends struggle with these issues in real-life and shouldn't have to face them in-game as well.

  • Pregnancy Bumps. While within the game a character may become pregnant, those pregnancy bumps and child-like dolls will never be approved to be used within the game space. Please feel free to put them in your backstory or have things occur "off screen".

National Community Guidelines

You can read more about the global guidelines for our community established in our contracts with Larp Licenses, LLC at the main Dystopia Rising Live webpage:

HORROR MOVIE SURVIVORS

Just like our characters, we're survivors! To make sure you survive the horror movie of the weekend, be sure to follow the three golden rules!

  1. No Sex. Our site is a sex-free campus. There is no real-world sex allowed on our site, in any cabin, bathroom, or tenting space. This is a zero tolerance policy. You will be asked to leave and be banned from future events.

  2. No Illegal Drugs. Players may not abuse drugs, prescription drugs, or other illegal or controlled substances whole on the campgrounds. This is a zero-tolerance policy and you will be asked to leave or be banned from future events.

  3. No Alcohol. Players cannot bring or consume alcoholic beverages while on the campgrounds. This includes the parking lot. This is a zero-tolerance policy and you will be asked to leave or be banned from future events.

TENTING

Tents are not Out of Game (OOG) areas and are not immune to IG consequences or actions that must be made by characters. Someone might be dying on the doorstep of your tent and your characters must choose between their safety and the lives of others. We encourage you to engage in this moral dilemma.

During quiet hours (2am-ish to 8am-ish) tents are 'off limits', for the most part. When an attack does occur you can expect the following.

- A Guide will announce their presence and if they intend to attack.

- The occupants then have 60 seconds to exit their tent and meet the threat.

- If the occupants choose not to exit the tent the Guide may call damage from outside. This damage will equally affect all occupants.

- During this encounter no one is permitted to enter your tent or remove you from the tent on an OOG level.

-All Character versus Character (CvC) actions require a Marshal. CvC against a tent occurs similarly to NPC attacks against a tent.

- The Guide will announce the attack and the occupants have 60 seconds to exit and meet the attack before damage can be declared.

-CvC Theft is handled differently, since usually the occupant will not be present.

-The Guide will announce themselves and confirm if anyone is in the tent before entering the tent with the thief player.

-They may look for items (cards/phys reps) that have been left out, but may not toss the tent looking for things. They also must avoid things with a black cloth over them (traditional OOG marking) or clearly marked OOG.

SMOKING

Currently there are no designated smoking areas, but that may change if cigarette butts are found during clean-up. Currently the only restriction is not to smoke near open windows or within 50 feet of a doorway. This restriction is for pipes, cigarettes, cigars and hookahs but does not apply to electronic cigarettes.

FIRES AND HOT SURFACES

No campfires may be created outside of a fire pit, either one established on camp or one provided by players. Players wishing to make a campfire must either provide firewood or use already downed dead fall from the forest.

Fires and hot cooking surfaces MUST be watched at ALL TIMES. Similarly there must always be a way to extinguish the heat nearby.

During combat, a marshal may take your place and watch the fire/hot surface for you. The marshal will verbally inform you that they are taking your place. Unless this happens, a single player is required to remain by the fire.

Combat will never take place near a fire or hot surface, but just like bathrooms - this should not be used as a way to avoid IG dilemmas.

DONATING ITEMS

We will no longer accept donations at events without prior approval by email. If you have a prop, boffer, or costume piece that you would like to donate you need to email descriptions or photos to Contact@DystopiaRisingAR.com

If we do not have a conversation via email, and you bring an item to an event with intent to donate, we will not accept the item. Even if we really want it and it's nifty. So do us all a favor and email us before you try and donate!
